Deveron Attends Southwest Agriculture ConferenceJanuary 8, 2016
We had an awesome time down at SWAC this week. The conference brought together over 1000 Ontario growers and agricultural thought leaders for 2 days of seminars and trade-show. We had a great time talking to growers about UAV technology and its applications to agriculture.
Many farmers are familiar with aerial imagery but have not had the chance to benefit from it because it can be prohibitively expensive…this is where Deveron comes in. As we are focused on a service model, we are trying to help growers user imagery in a cost effective way and removing the cost of purchasing their own individual units (which to apply properly in agriculture can range in price from $25,000 to $50,000 when you include all of the software requirements).
We are leveraging our relationships with the best hardware and software providers in agriculture to help benefit growers, which is by improving yields and saving costs. If we learned anything at SWAC, it is that farmers are looking for ways to lower input costs as it seems like every year these continue to go up! Aerial imagery helps with making better decisions and using inputs in a smarter way. We think data analytics can be a powerful tool for farmers but we also understand that they don’t want to be spending time flying their own fields and sifting through thousands of images. We are looking forward to working with and meeting more growers across the province in 2016.
Deveron will also be at the following shows, so if you are in the area, pop in and say hello!
Farms.com Precision Ag – February 2 & 3, 2016
